44th Annual Manzanar Pilgrimage
The Greater Los Angeles Area office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-LA) invites you to join the Manzanar Committee for a one-day visit to Manzanar, where about 10,000 Japanese Americans were interned based on their heritage during World War II, says a CAIR announcement. It adds:

* Interfaith prayer service
2:30PM - 5:00PM
* Walking Tours
* Museum Exhibits
5:00PM - 8:00PM
* “Manzanar at Dusk” group session with internees
Bus reservations are still being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. For further information, or to make a reservation, call (714) 776-1847 and speak to Programs Coordinator, Zienab Abdelgany. The non-refundable fare is $20.00 per seat for adults/$10.00 per seat for children.
Pilgrimage participants are advised to bring cash and/or their own lunch, drinks and snacks as there are no meals provided on the trip. Light snacks and water will be made available to all attendees, and stops will be made en route and in Lone Pine for guests to purchase dinner from local restaurants and fast food outlets.
We will be leaving from the CAIR office promptly at 6:30AM. Please be sure to arrive thirty minutes early so as to allow adequate time for boarding the bus for departure.
