Fifth Annual Partnership Walk in Bay Area
The 5 th Annual Partnership Walk in the Bay Area is being held on Sunday, October 13th, 2013 at Central Park (Lake Elizabeth) in Fremont, CA from 9am-3 pm.
Partnership Walk is a day of fun, learning and entertainment, says a press release. It adds: We will have cultural performances from different parts of the world, in addition to culturally diverse music, arts, and food.
Partnership Walk is an initiative of Aga Khan Foundation USA (AKF USA) and its network of volunteers to raise funds and awareness to create long-term solutions to poverty in vulnerable communities in Africa and Asia.
Participants, sponsors, donors and volunteers of Partnership Walk are part of a worldwide movement mobilizing around the universal Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to reduce extreme poverty and hunger by half by 2015.

· 100% of funds raised at Partnership Walk go directly to programs in the areas of health, education, rural development, civil society and the environment; not a cent is spent on administrative costs. · The programs of Aga Khan Foundation have gone a long way in ensuring that more girls go to school in Afghanistan, children in East Africa and India are immunized, and farmers in Tajikistan and Pakistan become self-reliant.
· Our partners include the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Coca-Cola Foundation, Ford Foundation, William and Flora Hewitt Foundation, US State Agency for International Development, United States Department of Agriculture and the United States Department of State, amongst several others.
