Muslim Day at the Capitol

For the past two years, CAIR-California has taken more than 200 Muslims from across the state to Sacramento to advocate on issues of concern to the Muslim community and the greater public, says a press release. It adds: At Muslim Day at the Capitol (MDAC), community members gain advocacy skills and a greater understanding of the inner workings of local and state government. This day has helped get important bills signed into law:

2013 | Assembly Bill 4 Passes | Rebuilds trust between immigrant communities and local law enforcement

2013 | California Domestic Workers Bill of Rights Passes | Bolsters labor protections domestic workers

2012 | AB 1964 Passes | Strengthens religious freedoms for California employees
