Mehreen Tahir KhanPasses away
Last night was a very heavy night for me when within twenty minutes of her unfortunate death, I received the sad news about Mehreen Tahir Khan , a beautiful young and outgoing girl of only twenty-one years of age, full of life, energy and charisma. Mehreen Tahir Khan, daughter of Br Tahir Hameed Khan and Sr Asmat Khan , passed away at 12:23 am earlier today, February 10, 2014 at one of the best hospitals in America, the UCLA Hospital due to complications from bone marrow transplant. Mehreen was truly a rising star of the Pakistani-American community of Southern California.

May Allah Almighty rest her departed soul in eternal peace in Jannat al-Firdaus and give her parents, Br Tahir Hameed Khan and Sr Asmat Khan , their other children Haris and Nimrah, and all family members including Dr Javed Hameed Khan and Dr Nuzhat Hameed Khan fortitude and courage to bear the irreparable loss. My heart goes out to the bereaved family and I share their sorrow and grief during this difficult time.
Funeral prayers for Mehreen were held on Tuesday , February 11, 2014 at Dhuhr at the Islamic Center of Inland Empire, Rancho Cucamonga, and she was laid to rest in the La Verne Muslim Cemetery.
I am sure the Muslim community of America will join me in extending our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family on the great loss of their precious young daughter. Please keep Mehreen and her family in your prayers. May Allah Almighty bless you all. - Rafique Ahmed
