Shaista Alam's Scintillating Performance on Mother's Day

Shaista Alam, a well-know artist of the Pakistani community in North America, held a live concert on 11th May 2014 to celebrate Mother's Day. The event was arranged by the management of "Amaya Restaurant" under the leadership of Mr Maninder and Mr Sharif. Located in Buena Park, the restaurant is an upscale venue with a spacious banquet hall that can seat 250. The hall was splendidly decorated on the occasion.
Shaista started with a motivational song for women admiring their manifold contributions since time immemorial. Later, she sang many popular songs, both old and new.
Her performance was stellar and the crowd was ecstatic. Shaista is famous for her stamina - she sang for two hours without a break. She was supported by Anis Chandani on key board and Deepak on tabla. Mr Chandani has been associated with the All India Radio. The sound system, acoustics and music were perfect and Shaista's singing seemed to cast a spell on the audience.
Shaista has performed on PTV and has given a memorable performance on the eve of a PTV award show. The event was graced by Pakistan's Acting Consul General Dr Khalid Ejaz, former Pakistani Ambassador Mr Karamatullah Ghori, President of Pakistan Link Mr Arif Mansuri, Safeer-e-Pakistan's Mr Waqar Khan, Resident Editor Urdu Link Mr Anwar Khawaja, Bureau Chief Urdu Times Mr Zafar Abbas, and Editor Shohrat International Mr Javed Masroor.
Ambassador Ghori complimented Shaista by calling her "surun ki malka".
