MPAC-ISF CLPD Partnership
The Inaugural Congressional Leadership Development Program (CLDP) Class
Dear Friends,
We are proud to announce that our two organizations -- the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) and the Islamic Scholarship Fund (ISF) -- have entered into a partnership to further our mission of improving public understanding and policies that impact American Muslims. We achieve this by addressing the under-representation of American Muslims in the fields and occupations that makepublic policy and influence public opinion.
Together, we have launched the Congressional Leadership Development Program (CLDP), a one-of-a-kind program dedicated towards creating tomorrow's American Muslim leaders by fostering pride in government service. The CLDP is the nation’s first program that gives American Muslim students the opportunity to intern on Capitol Hill.
Through the power of collaboration, we are better positioned to advance our mutual goal of developing the next generation of leaders who will enrich society. ISF is providing scholarships to CLDP fellows within supported majors, in addition to providing expertise in marketing, recruitment, curriculum development and candidate selection. MPAC is placing fellows within Congressional offices and conducting bi-weekly leadership development workshops with government officials, policymakers, and non-profit leaders.
The CLDP addresses a critical need in our community -- the need to fully integrate American Muslims in society. This begins by improving American Muslim representation in government, leading to a better understanding of Islam and the vital contributions we make towards enriching our nation.
The 2015 CLDP program begins this week and extends until mid-August. Please support the inaugural class by following their extraordinary journey on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Sincerely,
Salam Al-Marayati

Founded in 1988, the Muslim Public Affairs Council improves public understanding and policies that impact American Muslims by engaging our government, media and communities.
The Islamic Scholarship Fund (ISF) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) entity whose mission is to address the underrepresentation of American Muslims in the fields and occupations that make public policy and influence public opinion by providing merit based scholarships, film grants, internships, educational events and alumni networking opportunities. Our belief is that fostering education and improving Muslim representation in all walks of life including media and politics will lead to full integration and better understanding of Islam and Muslims.
