Shura Council Mourns the Victims of Suicidal Bombings in Egypt
Garden Grove, CA: The Islamic Shura Council of Southern California sends condolences to the families of victims of suicidal bombings at two Coptic Churches in Egypt and condemns this heinous crime, says a statement issued by the Council Chairman DrMuzammil H. Siddiqi. The statement reads:
The Islamic Shura Council of Southern California learnt with sadness, this Sunday, April 9, the news of the suicidal bomb attacks at two Coptic Churches in Egypt and the death and injury of many innocent people. We express our condolences for the victims' families.
We condemn this violence against a religious minority, and especially in their places of worship. All religious minorities and places of worship of all religions should be respected and protected.
We hope the authorities will soon find those who were responsible for this crime and bring them to justice. We urge and pray for the peaceful coexistence of all people of diverse faiths and cultures in the world.
The Islamic Shura Council is an umbrella organization of Mosques and Muslim organizations serving the Muslims of Southern California. Since 1995 the Shura Council continues to foster the spirit and culture of "working together" at all levels in one of the most diverse and largest Muslim populations in the country.
