Dr Jack Shaheen Passes away
Shura Council offers condolences to the family on the passing of Dr Jack Shaheen, says an announcement. It adds:
Dr Shaheen, born in 1935 in Pennsylvania, was a prolific author and professor whose career centered on dismantling stereotypes of Muslims and Arabs in the media. He was perhaps most famous for his book "Reel Bad Arabs," where he chronicled over 900 movies where Arabs were represented negatively.
