Karachi Club Los Angeles Hosts “Dawat e Haleem” in Garden Grove
In keeping with its tradition of hosting an annual Haleem Party, the Karachi Club of Los Angeles held a ‘Dawat e Haleem’ in Garden Grove, California, recently. Since 1994, the party is being held regularly.
Over 1,000 community members from all counties of greater Los Angeles area came with their families to commemorate the decade-old tradition in the holy month of Muharram and to enjoy tasty haleem prepared by Noorani Restaurant.
On the occasion a vigil for Las Vegas shooting victims was also arranged. Addressing the large gathering, Adnan Naqvi thanked all the guests and introduced the Karachi Club team members and main sponsors. He also introduced Bob Lindsey, Director of Security for Los Angeles County who is running for LA County Sheriff. While talking to the guests, Mr Lindsey assured his continued support for the community. Later, he visited the booth for the vigil of the Las Vegas victims to pay his respects. The vigil was arranged by the MQM Los Angeles Chapter.
