PTI Bay Area Group Celebrates Party’s Election Victory
By Abdus Sattar Ghazali

Highly-charged workers of Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) continue celebrating the party’s July 25 victory. On August 7, the PTI San Francisco Bay Area group gathered at the Chandni Restaurant, Fremont/CA to celebrate victory at the polls with a colorful program of national and PTI songs.
Maryam Turab, a popular Bay Area activist, was the spirit behind the PTI victory celebration while Muzna Syed, spouse of entrepreneur Syed Sarwat, was the chief guest.
Maryam Turab welcomed the audience and invited Anjum to address the gathering.
Anjum was of the view that Pakistan had already changed with the election of PTI under the leadership of Imran Khan. She said that overseas Pakistanis should send money to their relatives in Pakistan to beef up the foreign exchange reserves of Pakistan.
Annie Rathore presented a national song “Ae Nigar-e-Watan Tu Salamat Rahe”.
Shahida Malik enthralled the audience with her poem.
Almas Shabwani, a popular Bay Area singer, also entertained the audience with her melodious presentations. She also sang “Sohni Dharti Allah Rakkhe.”
Ahsan Sajjad entertained the audience with two songs in English. He was joined on guitar by Richard Macos.
Pakistan’s popular singer Riffat Sultana also thrilled the audience with PTI and national songs. She was joined on guitar by Richard Macos.
Fozia Ali, Atia and Mohammad Saleem also entertained the audience with Pakistani songs.
Among those who addressed the audience were: Sabahat Ashraf, Abdus Sattar Ghazali and Uzma Jafri.
The speakers were of the view that the PTI has very successfully ruled Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province which gives hope that Imran Khan as Prime Minister will introduce the well-meaning reforms throughout Pakistan in the sphere of education and police.
The speakers were skeptical whether Imran Khan will be able to implement his agenda because he is already facing severe criticism from the opposition parties who were never united in the past on any common agenda but are united today against Imran Khan.
The speakers strongly felt that by voting for the PTI the people of Pakistan have defeated many well-entrenched and corrupt politicians who had been in power for decades.
The program ended with the national song “Jeeve, Jeeve, Jeeve Pakistan; Pakistan, Pakistan, Jeeve Pakistan” in a chorus led by Riffat Sultana.
