ILF’s Orange County Chapter Attends Chinese New Year Celebrations in Washington
The Orange County Chapter of the International Leadership Foundation joined Secretary Elaine Chao at the Department of Transportation in Washington, DC, to celebrate the Chinese New Year, 2018.
The gracious hosts at the Department of Transportation welcomed the Asian American leaders from around the United States. Secretary Chao personally welcomed all the guest sand celebrated the 'coming of age' of the Asian American community. She announced more internships for the Asian American youth so that they may continue to serve the nation.
Secretary of Commerce, Mr Wilbur Ross also joined in the celebrations and praised the vibrant and enthusiastic crowd. “I couldn't assemble as enthusiastic a crowd as this at the Department of Commerce," he said while addressing the audience.
The Orange County group was led by its chairperson, Anila Ali and included Dr Gwen Finestone, board member, Dinah Frieden, and Aisha Bajwa.
ILF is a nonprofit that promotes civic leadership and engagement of Asian Americans.
