Befitting Celebration of Thanksgiving by Council of Pakistan

The Thanksgiving holiday is a day set aside specifically for the purpose of giving thanks to God for all his blessings. It commemorates the 1621 autumn harvest feast that the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Indians shared and is celebrated across the length and breadth of America. According to the Council of Pakistan, Thanksgiving is “acknowledged as a day of recognizing and thanking all the people of this great nation.”
In keeping with this annual American tradition, Team Council of Pakistan, including its youth members, celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday in a truly befitting manner - by giving back to the community. Members worked hand in hand inside Los Angeles mission kitchen and helped prepare Thanksgiving meal for the less fortunate members of society. Later in the day, the entire team served hundreds of meals to those who had come hungry and left smiling thanks to the Council of Pakistan-sponsored meal program.
Team Council of Pakistan also sponsored a program “Stay warm during this winter” in collaboration with LAPD, GO BE and LA mission team and distributed blankets, towels, socks and beanies, to keep the recipients warm and cozy during the winter.
LAPD, LA mission, and GO BE organization lauded the community services of Council of Pakistan. Each one expressed appreciation for COP initiatives to bring communities together and promote understanding and harmony among them.
Following were present: COP President Dr Imran Sharief, Chairman Adnan Khan, Board members Ismail Keekibahi, Firoze Falkhri, Sameer Moosani, Sadia Zafar,
Advisory board member Salim Adiya, Auxiliary members Itrat Sharief, Tahmina Khan, and Members Aisha Keekeebhai, Yasmeen Adiya, and Youth members.
