Agha Azhar Ali Passes away
November 5, 1950 – July 28, 2018
Agha Azhar Ali, of Vienna, Virginia, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on July 28,after a valiant fight with cancer. Born in Lahore, Pakistan, Azhar belonged to a political family: he was the son of Agha Shaukat Ali (Srinagar) and Musarrat Ali (Lahore). Azhar grew up in an intellectually stimulating environment. Both his parents supported the Pakistan Movement led by the Quaid and Miss Fatima Jinnah.
A graduate of Aitchison College, he was looking forward to attending his reunion later this year. He went for his advanced studies in London, where he also worked. He was a well-traveled banker and an avid student of Chinese traditional medicine. He was a voracious reader and was associated with the Iqbal-Shariati Foundation set up by his father, Agha Shaukat Ali. His other passions included music and automobiles, especially his collection of Alfa Romeos.
He is survived by his wife, Diana Milbury, and four daughters, Fatimah, Amber, Giselle, and Nadia. He is also survived by his sisters, Tehmina Khan and Rabia Ali. Nephews and nieces include: Amina Khan, Ali Khan, Nader Khan, Agha Tariq Ali, and Ayesha Ali.
