AMWEC’s President Meets Dr Maleeha Lodhi in New York
American Muslim and Multifaith Women’s Empowerment Council President Anila Ali paid a visit to meet Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UN, Dr Maleeha Lodhi in New York on Thursday, June 25th.
Amwec’s president welcomed Pakistan’s call to fight Islamophobia worldwide and offered full support to Ambassador Lodhi in her efforts.
Ali informed the Ambassador about the work of Pakistani women since 9/11 in fighting Islamophobia and elevating the voice of the Pakistani Muslim woman in America.
“Amwec’s interfaith work including workshops and panel discussions on hate and bigotry with Anti Defamation League, UC Irvine and law enforcement agencies have help build a resilient Pakistani Muslim community,” says Ali.
Dr Lodhi was pleased to know about the work that the Pakistani women have been doing in fighting all forms of hate and bigotry with other community and civic organizations.
