Dr Yasmin Qasim Organizes Annual Saba Homes Fundraiser
On Saturday, May 25th, Dr Yasmin Qasim, prominent community activist, organized a fundraiser for Saba Homes, a one-of-its-kind orphanage in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
A California 501(c) 3 non-profit humanitarian and educational organization, Saba Homes is a unique orphanage filled with love and affection like no other, a family-oriented place where MrSaghir Aslam and his wife Bushra raise the girls as their own and provide the best care.
This year’s Iftar fundraiser was at The Tikka Guys restaurant. The event was well attended by a cross section of prominent community members who generously donated for the noble cause. The guests enjoyed the Iftar dinner and the presentations that followed.
Syed Javaid Anwar, a well-known philanthropist, generously donated for a room in each of the new under construction girl’s orphanage and boy’s orphanage buildings.
Dr Yasmin has been involved with Saba Homes for quite a few years and deserves to be applauded for her initiative and enterprise in organizing the fundraiser every year. – Pictures by Anwar Khawaja
