Global Beat Foundation Launches Amazing China in the USA

Amazing China, a third travelogue book written by Manzar Naqvi, Executive Editor, The Financial Daily, Karachi and Lahore, and Secretary-General Karachi Editors Club (KEC), was launched at a ceremony arranged by The Global Beat Foundation (GBF) at the Ashburn Library Hall, Ashburn, Virginia on Saturday, May 4th 2019.
In her welcome address GBF President NuzairaAzam highlighted the aims and objectives of the Foundation. Following a brief introduction of the author and his book, she invited Manzar Naqvi to share his experiences in China and what prompted him to write the book.
Manzar Naqvi recounted the long-standing Sino-Pak relations and the progress in China in various fields, especially during the last decade. He lauded the remarkable development in China, especially by way of The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Belt refers to the overland routes for road and rail transportation, called "the Silk Road Economic Belt"; whereas road refers to the sea routes or the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. The BRI signifies a development strategy adopted by the Chinese government that involves infrastructure expansion and investment in 152 countries and international organizations in Europe, Asia, Middle East, Latin America and Africa. He also informed the gathering that around 80 countries are participating in this gigantic program. India will soon be joining the program.
He informed the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is the flagship project of BRI with an investment of 62 billion dollars by China while the total investment in the BRI Program is estimated at 10 trillion US dollars. He also shared with the audience his experiences of travel in Turkey and the country’s development. During the question-and-answer session, Naqvi answered several questions from the audience about Pak-China relations and appreciated the interest of Pakistani Americans in the development of Pakistan-USA relations.
On behalf of KEC, Manzar Naqvi presented an honorary membership certificate to NuzairaAzam on the occasion.
