Landmark Muslim Women Leaders Study
Shura Council is pleased to announce that board member DuaaAlwan, conducted a year-long field study on Women Leaders in Southern California Muslim Community Nonprofits. During our general body meeting on Saturday, September 28th, MsAlwan presented the documentation of women's experiences that spanned over four decades and a total of 187 years of combined service. MsAlwan shared positive and negative examples as well as how we can learn from them as a community. The presentation was well received, and we were able to kick-off an initiative to work with our Mosques in a way that meets their individual needs. The full report is to be released next week.
