Show Your Gratitude to Healthcare Workers

We wanted to do our small part to express our gratitude to the heroes on the frontlines of the pandemic. Even after their long hospital shifts, medical professionals are taking to the streets to treat protestors. We asked mosques around the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Woodland Hills, CA to join us in buying lunch for the hard-working staff at the hospital. With the help of the Islamic Center of Northridge, Islamic Center of Southern California, and Islamic Society of West Valley, we distributed 270 delicious meals that were bought from local family-owned restaurants.
As one of the hospital staff put it, “Things have been so hectic these past few weeks. Small gestures of support like this from our community go a long way.”
We invite you to show your gratitude to our healthcare workers, from janitors and administrators to doctors and nurses, with similar gestures of appreciation at your local hospital or clinic.
As part of our Human Security campaign, we are advocating Congress to provide healthcare workers across the nation with personal protective equipment, medical insurance (Yes, some cannot afford or qualify for employer-sponsored healthcare!), and paid leave.
Thank you for your continuing support of our vital work toward creating an equitable, just, and inclusive America.
