Passes away
The Muslim community of San Gabriel Valley in Southern California is mourning the sad demise of an active and respected community member Sister Shamim Akhtar who passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2020.Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'oon
May Allah rest her departed soul in eternal peace in Jannat-al-Firdaus and give her family the fortitude and courage to bear this monumental loss. My heartfelt condolences and sincere prayers are with her entire family during this most difficult time in their life.
Sister Shamim Akhtar was the loving wife and a very strong supporter of Brother Waheed Ahmed who has provided over 20 years of dedicated service to the Islamic Center of San Gabriel Valley. She is survived by her son Zain, brothers Mohammad Idrees Shafiq and Ghulam Hasan, father-in-law Ali Afsar and brother-in-law Bilal Ahmed.
Her funeral prayer and burial was held on Sunday, November 22, 2020, at the Westminster Memorial Park
All the respected members of the Muslim community living in the US, especially in Southern California, are requested to kindly make a sincere Dua for the Magfirah of Sister Shamim Akhtar. Please also keep her family in your prayers.
