Fathima Ahmed Passes away
The Muslim community of Southern California is mourning the sad demise of a highly respected and popular senior community member Sister Fathima Ahmed who passed away in Palos Verdes.
Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un.
May Allah rest her departed soul in eternal peace in Jannat-al-Firdaus and give her entire family the fortitude and courage to bear this monumental loss. My heartfelt condolences and sincere prayers are with her entire family during this most difficult time in their life.
Funeral Prayers for Sister Fathima were held at Masjid Al Noor in Lomita, California. Following the funeral prayers, Sister Fathima was laid to rest at Green Hills Mortuary located in Palos Verdes.
Sister Fathima Ahmed was happily married to her loving husband, Br Zahir Ahmed for 61 years. Br. Zahir Ahmed is also highly respected for producing Islamic videos for the last several decades.
Sister Fathima is survived by two children, daughter Moonie Fishburn married to Matt Fishburn and son, Naseem Ahmed married to Tahmeena Ahmed. She is also survived by four beautiful grandchildren, Ameena, Khayal, Alina and Henna.
I and my deceased wife, Shahana had the privilege of knowing Sister Fathima and Br Zahir for the last 52 years. They always attended all our family functions. Sister Fathima was always very respectful, cheerful, helpful, kind, truthful, very generous and always ready to help people in financial distress. She actively participated in the establishment of three Islamic Centers in Los Angeles area serving as an organizer in assisting in numerous lectures and activities during the infancy period of those Islamic Centers. She also actively participated and assisted in her husband's video projects of Islamic documentaries. May Allah accept all her good deeds and bless her and her entire family with the best of everything in this world and also in the Hereafter. Ameen!
All members of the Muslim community living in the US, and especially in Southern California, are requested to kindly make a sincere Du'a for the Magfirah of our respected sister, Fathima Ahmed. Please also keep her family in your prayers. May Allah accept your sincere dua's. Thank you so very much for your kind cooperation in this noble matter.
