Muslim American Appreciation and Awareness Month
The Orange County Board of Supervisors designated August as Muslim American Appreciation and Awareness Month in conjunction with the State of California. Dr Muzammil Siddiqi, Religious Director of the Islamic Society of Orange County, accepted this prestigious honor on behalf of the Orange County Muslim community and thanked the Board of Supervisors for recognizing the many contributions the Muslim community has made to the country.
Shura Council Chair, Azeem Syed accepted the certificate on behalf of the Islamic Shura Council of Southern California, a federation of Mosques and Muslim organizations serving over a half-million Muslims in Southern California and the society-at-large.
