Amjad Noorani Passes away
“The Citizens Foundation, USA pays its deepest respects to the life and contribution of Mr Amjad Noorani who passed away on the 3rd of June, 2022,” says a condolence message. An activist for education reforms in Pakistan, Mr Noorani served as a Director on the board of TCF-USA and dedicated over twenty years of his life to TCF and the cause of education.
“He co-authored the book Agents of Change – a compilation of personal stories, opinions, and suggested actions for positively changing the education system in Pakistan. Known for his penchant for perfection, Mr Noorani leaves behind a lasting legacy of dedication and compassion.
“His relentless efforts and activism toward educating the underprivileged children of Pakistan will continue to be a source of inspiration for the entire TCF family,” The TCF USA message concluded.
The late Mr Noorani was a retired Physical Therapist and Safety Consultant. He graduated from the University of Karachi College of Physiotherapy in 1970. He served on boards and committees of professional and community organizations at state and national levels. He served on the Board of Directors of TCF-USA and supported education reform in Pakistan through the International Coalition for Education Reform in Pakistan (ICERP). He was the lead author of Agents of Change. H is narrative and analyses are based on extensive personal research, conversations in the education community, interviews with experts in the field, and first-hand knowledge of the challenges within the education system.
