Shura Council Statement on Peshawar Masjid Attack on March 4th
The Islamic Shura Council of Southern California, according to a message, firmly decries the heinous ISIL-K terrorist attack in the Pakistani city of Peshawar that claimed the lives of more than 60 people and critically injured many more innocent worshippers.
This act of wanton violence during devotional congregational prayers in a Masjid violates the sanctity of life upheld by the teachings of Islam.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to our brothers and sisters who lost their lives and loved ones in this senseless and unjustified tragedy. We are hopeful that the perpetrators will be brought to justice and we stand in solidarity with the survivors and those affected.
May Allah strengthen our resolve in overcoming the detrimental divisiveness and increase our reliance on Him.
