Support NCHD-PHDF Flood Relief Work

 

I am one of the active Founding Director of NCHD-PHDF since 2002 along with a few others in the USA. NCHD-PHDF is one of the very few human development organizations in all 154 districts of Pakistan.

Devastating floods across 30% of Pakistan came suddenly not giving much time for emergency first response. Fortunately, NCHD-PHDF had a large number of trained teams and volunteers in all the flood area. First emergency response by NCHD-PHDF started almost immediately. Daily activity pictures from NCHD-PHDF first phase response are being posted on Facebook under "National Commission for Human Development" visible to everyone. PHDF reserve funds along with funds coming from PHDF Directors and their friends are coming in. Much, much more is needed for months and years.

Immediate need is to provide for shelters, clothing and food shortages in the flood affected areas. Many reputable non-government organizations are actively involved in providing relief to affected families. Before you decide to help the needy through your NGO of choice, do consider the following two issues:

NGO must have a presence and capacity on-ground to help the affected people.
NGO has the ability to collect and transfer funds from international donors to Pakistan for their operations . (Currently there are some FATF and Pakistan Government restrictions in place for transfer of funds to Pakistan).

Lodhie Foundation has just received approval from  Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Economic Affairs Division to receive funds from USA 501c3 organizations for Pakistan Flood Relief. (Exemption letter received by Lodhie Foundation can be sent upon request)
