Women Promise Reversal of Roe v Wade

Washington: In the wake of the Roe v Wade reversal, women across the nation January 23rd demonstrated on the 50th anniversary of the landmark Supreme Court decision by marching in support of reestablishing a Women’s Right for abortion. By organizing their voices and electing Women’s Rights candidates in the 2022 mid-term elections voters have sent a powerful message to anti-freedom politicians.

They pledged that “We are taking our fight to every state house and every state legislator in this country. We are putting all politicians at every level of government on notice: If you come for our families, our freedoms, or our future, we are coming for your seat. Our movement is strong. Our movement is growing.”

With that momentum behind them, women and their supporters under the banner of “Bigger than Roe National Day of Action, Women’s March” promise, “We will never shut up – We are not going gently.” Noting that “We are ALL born free and equal in dignity and rights, the Supreme Court of the US and the United States Congress have failed in their obligation to protect, respect, and uphold our human rights.”

“We know that change doesn’t start from the top down. It starts with us, in the streets. It starts with everyday women, feminists, and allies who won’t wait for action. We take it ourselves. WE show up for US.”

Holding their rally at the appropriately named Freedom Plaza in downtown Washington, a smaller than usual but enthusiastic crowd demonstrated on this blustery winter day to have their voices heard. Nearby, a small but vocal group of Right to Life counter protesters hurled vile verbal insults and abuse at the Pro-Choice demonstrators. A low point for them, bordering on child abuse, was the inclusion of two young children whose signs they held were above their comprehension. One of the women held a sign calling for the killing of women who choose to have an abortion rendering the “sanctity of life” credo they espouse mute.

To counter their action, several activists blocked them by forming a human wall around them as they continued to insult those whom they disagree with. Part of their message related to “Christian values” was they negated by their very action.

After a short rally the group marched to the White House accompanied by DC Metro Police where they promised to remain active until Women’s Health Rights are restored.
