Muslim Heritage Month has been observed since July 2014 in City of Los Angeles every year. This year too leading Muslim organizations of North America and Muslim leaders came together to celebrate and observe the 2023 Muslim Heritage month.
The event was attended by City of Los Angeles HRC, Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), Council of Pakistan (COP), Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), Islamic Shura Council of Southern California, Muslim Democratic Club California, ILM Foundation, INKERIJ, Burnt Children Relief Foundation (BCRF) and America Center for Religious Freedom.
Dr Jannah Scott CEO American Center for Religious Freedom shed light on the important role Muslim communities have played in the United States and their work before Covid-19 and after.
The event was also attended by Consulate of Qatar and Mr Hamad Al-Ghanim represented the Consul General's office in Los Angeles.
United States member of Congress Judy Chu was the Chief Guest as her work was admired by all Muslim communities for fighting hate crimes and standing up for the rights of all in the United States and around the world. Congress member Judy Chu presented Najee Ali, Adnan Khan and Umar A. Hakim with a recognition from United States Congress for the Muslim Heritage Month 2023. |
