Pakistani-American Appointed Federal Consultant to Serve on US Defense Logistic Agency/DLNSEO
San Francisco : Fremont resident Zafar Yousufzai aka Zafar Khan has a new role in working as a Federal Linguist Consultant with DoD/DLA along with Defense Language National Security Education Office (DLNSEO).in Alexandria, VA effective April 24, 2023.
Mr Yousufzai in his new position will be a member of the federalized component to serve when a mission arises that best utilizes his language and skillset. He has been an active member of the National Language Service Corps (NLSC) since 2007. It is a public organization comprising US citizens who are proficient in foreign languages and cultures of countries that interact with the United States. He is also a recipient of the National Security Education Program (NSEP/EHLS) scholarship to pursue full-time study at the University of Washington in 2007.
Prior to the current appointment, Mr Yusufzai had served as a cultural adviser/SME South-West Asia counterintelligence for the US mission in Kuwait. He also worked for the US Central Command HQ (MacDill AFB) in Tampa, Fla. as social media analyst/Editor of the Urdu team where he received Award of Excellence from Gen David Petraeus in Dec 2009 at a special ceremony in the Centcom HQ.
Mr Yousufzai was born, raised, and educated in Karachi, Pakistan. He holds a Master's degree in Political Science from the University of Karachi and an LLB from Sindh Muslim Law College, Pakistan. He also earned an MBA (Management) from Lincoln University. He has received certificates in four languages: Arabic, Bengali, Persian, and Russian while attending the Law College.
He hosted three weekly radio programs for the community broadcast from San Francisco viz. Voice of Pakistan, Subrung, and Watan Ki Awaaz for Pakistani immigrants in the Greater Bay Area. Also was an active member and media secretary of the Pakistan Cultural Association.
