So Cal Muslims React to Syria's Latest Updates

The Islamic Shura Council of Southern California extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Syrian people for achieving the end of 53 years of oppressive rule and gaining the fruits of their 14-year-old revolution.

California, home to the largest Syrian-American community in the United States with over 30 thousand individuals, stands in solidarity with the Syrian people during this historic moment. We celebrate alongside our Syrian-American brothers and sisters and join them in praying that Syria can finally embrace a free and democratic government that ensures justice and dignity for all its citizens.

We pray this moment marks the dawn of true freedom for all Syrians, bringing an end to foreign interference in the nation’s affairs, ensuring security for Syria’s historically diverse communities, and fostering unity among the peoples and nations of the Middle East.

We urge President Biden to take decisive steps in discouraging foreign powers from exploiting Syria’s transitional period through illegal aggression, violations of international truce agreements, or further occupation of Syrian land and its people.

This historic moment reminds the world of an eternal truth: tyranny, oppression, and injustice cannot prevail indefinitely. By the will of Allah(swt), justice is served, the truth emerges victorious, and the rights of the oppressed are restored.

We thank Allah(swt) for granting the Syrian people this miraculous liberation after decades of unimaginable suffering. We pray they succeed in building a representative government grounded in justice and equality, which not only uplifts its citizens but also promotes fairness and peace across the region, serving as an enduring example of hope for oppressed communities worldwide.

May Allah’s mercy encompass Syria and its people, guiding them and their new leaders along paths of peace, harmony, and justice. Ameen. - Islamic Shura Council Southern California
