AMU Alumni Association of Northern California Announces the Annual Sir Syed Day Mushaira and AEEF Benefit Dinner

Foster City, CA: The AMU Alumni Association of Northern California is delighted to announce its most anticipated event of the year, the Annual Sir Syed Day Mushaira and AEEF Benefit Dinner. This grand celebration is set to bring together the dynamic AMU alumni community, poetry aficionados, and supporters of education for an unforgettable evening.

Scheduled for November 9th, 2024 at the India Community Center in Milpitas, CA, this year’s event holds special significance as it marks the 24th live Sir Syed Day celebration—a milestone following three years of virtual gatherings (2020-2022) due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The highlight of the evening will be a Mushaira featuring renowned poets from India, Pakistan, and North America, whose verses promise to captivate the audience with powerful and soul-stirring performances. This cultural event will foster unity, celebrate artistic expression, and create an atmosphere of mutual appreciation for the timeless art of poetry.

Besides the Mushaira, attendees will enjoy a delightful dinner, making the evening a feast for both the senses and the soul. Importantly, proceeds from the event will benefit the Aligarh Education Endowment Fund (AEEF), providing vital support for educational initiatives in underprivileged communities.

"The Annual Sir Syed Day Mushaira and AEEF Benefit Dinner is not only a celebration of poetry and culture but also a fantastic opportunity for professional networking,” said Aftab Umar, President of the AMU Alumni Association of Northern California. “We are honored to welcome distinguished poets and a vibrant community of alumni and supporters, all united by a shared passion for education and cultural heritage.”

Dr Shaheer Khan, Secretary of AEEF, added, "This event symbolizes our commitment to preserving our heritage, fostering artistic expression, and empowering communities through education. We are grateful to all those who join us in supporting this noble cause."

The AMU Alumni Association of Northern California warmly invites AMU alumni, poetry enthusiasts, and advocates of education to be part of this memorable celebration.
