Link’s Senior Columnist Mowahid Shah’ s Book, “Will & Skill”, Presented to Western New Mexico University

Silver City, New Mexico: Pursuant to the initiative of the popular Professor Heather Frankland, the book, “Will & Skill” by Pakistan Link senior columnist, attorney-at-law and former Minister, Mowahid Hussain Shah, was presented on September 3, 2024, at the campus of Western New Mexico University in Silver City, New Mexico.  Professor Frankland accepted the book for onward deposit and preservation at WNMU’s library.

An enduring genre of Hollywood movies is devoted to stories of America’s Wild West.  Silver City was at the heart of the Wild West.  It is associated with legendary 19 th century outlaw, Billy the Kid, and also the home of the formidable Apache, whose notable warrior chieftain, Geronimo, was born in what is now New Mexico.  30 miles away from Silver City is Gila, once populated by the Apache and now on the National Register of Historic Places.

Further from Silver City is Tombstone, Arizona, the site on October 26, 1881, of the Gunfight at the OK Corral, which formed the crux of many cowboy and outlaw legends associated with the Wild West.

Mowahid Shah’s book was presented by Silver City resident, Mr Aman Khan who, at one time, was a former Pakistani diplomat at the Embassy of Pakistan, Washington, DC, and a notable Washington-area community activist. The book will be displayed on the shelves of the Library of WNMU for perusal by faculty, students, and the general public.
