UMMA Health Opens Figueroa Care Center, First Urgent Care in South Los Angeles

 

UMMA Health  reached a historic milestone on August 7, 2026, with the official inauguration of its newly completed clinic site at the Figueroa Care Center, the first urgent care facility in South Los Angeles. Congresswoman Maxine Waters was also present at the opening ceremony. She has been a strong supporter of these efforts in the federal government.

Designed with both patients and providers in mind, the Figueroa Care Center offers walk-in and same-day urgent care for acute illnesses and injuries, on-site imaging, and diagnostics for faster evaluations, and expanded access for Medi-Cal, Medicare, and uninsured patients. The facility has nine exam rooms, a radiology lab, an on-site pharmacy, and is currently open for 40 hours per week, with plans to extend hours as community demand grows.
