Flood commission visits affected areas
ISLAMABAD: The flood commission constituted by the Supreme Court visited Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to conduct a field visit of the flood-affected areas on Friday. The officials of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority and Irrigation Department gave the members of the commission a detailed briefing about the visit. The commission was informed that due to the unprecedented floods, the arrangements made by the authorities had not been sufficient. The commission visited the floods affected areas in Peshawar and Charsadda and met with the flood victims. The members of the commission said that it was time that appropriate measures be taken to minimise future damages by flooding. They requested that financial assistance should be provided to the flood victims so that they could rebuild their houses and continue with their lives. hasnaat malik
