Cameron given warm welcome at PM House


ISLAMABAD: British Prime Minister David Cameron was given a formal welcome here as he arrived at the Prime Minister House on Tuesday.

Cameron who is at a day-long visit to meet the Pakistani leadership, was received by Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani at the PM House.

A red carpet was rolled out for the visiting dignitary. A contingent of armed forces presented the salute to Prime Minister Cameron as he reviewed the parade.

Prime Minister Gilani introduced the members of his cabinet to his British counterpart.

Later the two prime ministers proceeded for talks.

Earlier, Cameron was received at the Chaklala Air base by Senator Mian Raza Rabbani, the minister-in-waiting, British High Commissioner and senior government officials.

The British prime minister will also meet President Asif Ali Zardari and the parliamentary leaders.

The talks between Pakistani leadership and Prime Minister David Cameron will focus on finding ways to enhance strategic dialogue between the two countries. Other areas including health and education will also be discussed in priority.
