Malik announces constituting parliamentary committee on missing persons


ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Thursday told Senate that the number of missing persons in the country is around 200 to 300 of them the whereabouts of 28 people is located, Geo News reported.

Addressing the Senate here, Interior Minister also announced to constitute a parliamentary committee in this regard.

He told the house that a judicial commission was also formed, adding that this commission had located the whereabouts of 254 missing persons. A committee, headed by defence secretary has also been constituted to handle the issue, he said.

Earlier, the senators expressed their concerns on the missing persons of Balochistan and made a demand to constitute a committee in this regard.
