No parliamentarian appears before EC: chief


ISLAMABAD: Chief Election Commissioner former justice Hamid Ali Mirza said that media pressed about the non-implementation of Supreme Court orders but it is reality that no parliamentarian bothered to appear before Election Commission (EC) due to which they are forced to report the fake degree cases.

Fake degree cases were heard in EC on Saturday.

During the hearing, minister from Balochistan Wazeer Muhammad Khan's counsel said that after 18th amendment the reconstitution of EC is required before the hearing.

Mir Nadir Magsi, Israrullah Zehri didn't appear despite being summoned several times by the EC after which Chief Election Commissioner resend notices to them.

Hearing against Muhammad Khan Toor and Saimal Kamran was adjourned till May 14, Abdul Sammad Akhwanzada's hearing of the case till April 14, reference for the minority seat crisis in the National Assembly will be heard on April 23, while hearing of the reference against 9 members of unification block in Punjab Assembly will also be heard on the same date.
