KESC’s long power outages injustice to citizens: MQM
KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) parliamentarians have flayed the increase in the duration of load shedding by the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) up to 14 hours and have termed it as a gross injustice to the people of Karachi. They have demanded practical steps for reducing the load shedding to the minimum level. They said that the unremitting load shedding has made the life of the citizens miserable. They said that despite the fact that electricity charges are being increased constantly the people of Karachi have not been given any respite in long hours of power outages, which deserves strong condemnation. They demanded of President Zardari, Prime Minister Gilani, Sindh governor Dr Ishratul Ibad, Sindh CM Qaim Ali Shah and all other concerned authorities to take serious notice of long power outages in Karachi. They also called for urgent steps to end load shedding in the metropolitan city of Karachi. staff report.
