Thankful to be opted to argue ZAB reference: Babar

ISLAMABAD: Law Minister Babar Awan, who resigned from ministerial post to plead reopen case of former Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto (ZAB), has said that he would have resigned being the Prime Minister of Pakistan to avail this golden chance to reveal to the world what cruelty was perpetrated upon Quaid-e-Awam ZAB, Geo News reported.

Talking to media after apex court adjourned the hearing of reopened presidential reference case of ZA Bhutto, Babar Awan said he was thankful to Allah Almight, Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani and President Asif Ali Zardari and all party members on being opted to accomplish this historical landmark.

Earlier in Supreme Court (SC), he informed CJ Ifitkhar Mohammed Chaudhry that Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto would himself speak through his tongue during the forthcoming hearings, arguing that a ‘Shaheed’ never perishes.

“I will fully cooperate the honourable court in this case. The top brass of PPP will remain present amid hearing of this reference case as per directives of President Zardari,” he noted.

“I have completed preparations to restore my membership of Supreme Court,” he said adding that he would attend tomorrow’s hearing being a lawyer and would end this story on merit.
