Meeting of Judicial Commission to be held on April 16
ISLAMABAD: The meeting of the Judicial Commission will be held on April 16 for consideration of confirmation/appointment of Additional Judges of Lahore High Court and High Court of Balochistan.
Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dr Babar Awan has resigned from his office on April 13 who was also member of the Judicial Commission under Article 175A (2) of the Constitution.
Due to resignation of the Law Minister which was also accepted by the President, the Chief Justice of Pakistan/Chairman, Judicial Commission of Pakistan has directed the concerned office that the matter be brought to the notice of the Principal Secretaries to the president and prime minster as well as Cabinet Secretary and Secretary, Law and Justice Division for information and further necessary action.
Earlier, in pursuance of the resignation of Dr Babar Awan from the office of Federal Minister for Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs, the Secretary, Judicial Commission of Pakistan wrote a letter pointing out that meeting of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan has already been scheduled on April 16 for consideration of confirmation/appointment of Additional Judges of Lahore High Court and High Court of Balochistan.
