Babar Awan vows to efface ‘stains’ from judiciary

ISLAMABAD: Dr Babar Awan said on Wednesday that he would wash off ‘blood stains’ from the country’s judicial system in accordance with the Shariah laws. Talking to newsmen in the Supreme Court building after getting his practicing licence renewed from the Pakistan Bar Council to appear in the Zulfikar Ali Bhutto reference case, Babar said that the Pakistan People’s Party was committed to put an end to the deprivation and social atrocities from society. Bhutto was a person who had given the country the constitution, federation, judiciary, institutions, democracy and nuclear system, said Babar, adding that the former prime minister had fought for justice in the apex court and “now we are rewriting this history”. “I have resigned from the ministry. Even if I was a prime minister I would have done the same because it was a very petty thing than to appear in the ZAB reference in the Supreme Court for ending injustice done to Bhutto,” he added. app
