Shahbaz to go to China with high hopes

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Sunday that China is a sincere friend of Pakistan and hoped that his visit to China would yield positive and far-reaching results.
Talking to the media at the Lahore airport before he left for China on a 5-day visit, the chief minister (CM) said that that during his visit the Punjab government would sign agreements with China in communications, infrastructure and energy sectors. A 120MW powerhouse would be constructed at Taunsa with the cooperation of China, he said, adding that he would also seek more Chinese cooperation for mega projects, including Lahore Ring Road and Rawalpindi Ring Road projects.
The CM said he would also discuss matters pertaining to prevailing situation, especially that of terrorism, with the Chinese leaders. Shahbaz said that China has always supported Pakistan on the international issues and provided help in major development projects. He was going to China to further strengthen the relationship of friendship and love between the two neighbouring countries, he added.
