Suicide attackers enemies of Islam: SIC

LAHORE: The suicide attacks are haraam and totally against the teachings of Islam, and the suicide bombers are the enemies of Islam and Pakistan, speakers at a meeting organised by Sunni Ittihad Council (SIC) said on Sunday.
Addressing ‘Istehkaam-e-Pakistan Sunni Conference’ at Minar-e-Pakistan, SIC Chairman Sahibzada Haji Muhammad Fazal Karim condemned the terrorist attacks in the country, especially at mosques and shrines of Sufis, and called for open trial of terror suspects. He took an oath from the attendants that they would spare no effort to save Pakistan.
Fazal Karim said that from now on the politics of merit would prevail in the country, adding that SIC would raise leadership from the middle class of society. He said that SIC would not tolerate any “negative change” in the textbooks of the educational institutions of the country and would ensure an educational system based on equality. He vowed that his organisation would leave no stone unturned to establish ‘Nizam-e-Mustafa’ in the country. With the active support of the people, the council would retrieve the looted money from the plunderers of the national exchequer, he added.
The SIC chairman urged the judiciary to take strict action against those involved in the heinous crime of suicide attacks on mosques and shrines. He also demanded the government expose the elements behind the target killings, especially in Karachi, and improve the law and order situation in the rest of the country as well. The SIC advocates the proposal of the formation of new provinces for better administration and management, he added.
Religious scholars and leaders, including Syed Mushahid Hussain Gardezi, Mufti Muhammad Haseeb Qadri, Allama Naeem Javed Noori, Pir Safdar Shah and Ejaz Sarwat, also addressed the conference.
The government had taken stringent security measures for the conference and there was a heavy deployment of police and other security personnel at the venue. Rescue 1122, Edhi Foundation, Bomb Disposal Squad and other related agencies were also on high alert. app
