LHC seeks record on references against Malik
LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) Thursday sought record on all the references against Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Geo News reported.The LHC issued the order for submitting the record on the petition filed by Advocate Imtiaz Qureshi.
The petition has challenged the act of pardoning Rehman Malik by President Zardari.
The lawyer of Imtiaz Qureshi told LHC that the court had upheld Rehman Malik’s punishment but President Zardari, misusing his constitutional rights, had it waived.
Rehman Malik did not even fulfill the constitutional and legal requirements for pardoning of the punishment, the petition further said.
