Karachi blast kills 18, injures 41
KARACHI: At least 18 people were killed and 41 sustained injuries in a powerful blast that ripped through Rami Club building near Ghaas Mandi area in Lyari locality on Thursday night at about 9.30 P.M, Geo News reported.
Investigation police officials said that two kilograms of explosives were used for the huge blast that thundered far and wide letting loose a reign of terror and blowing away the electricity transmission line to the club.
SSP Raja Khatab after visiting the site of the incident told media that time device bomb weighing two kilogram of explosives, which was kept beneath the big table detonated.
Police surgeon Doctor Hamid said that 16 bodies, 32 injured were shifted to the Civil Hospital, while others to Jinnah Hospital and Abassi Shaheed Hospital.
Sindh information minister, Sharjeel Memon enquired about the health of the wounded. Talking to media he said that the incident was being investigated and the culprits would be dealt with severely.
Sindh Chief Minister has asked for the report of the Karachi incident from CCPO. On the other hand, according to the CPLC records police officers were patronizing gambling dens in this area and the residents very often have been lodging complaints about it.
