JI chief holds PML-N equally responsible for PPP ‘wrongdoings’

Staff Report

RAWALPINDI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) ameer, Syed Munawar Hasan, on Sunday held the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) equally responsible for the wrongdoings of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in the name of reconciliation.

He said this while addressing the local party workers at the JI public contact campaign at Sadiqabad Chowk during his one day visit to the city, as part of the JI’s campaign to muster public support against drone attacks. Hasan said the government and its allied parties were responsible for the drone attacks in which hundreds of innocent people have been killed, sky-rocketing inflation, load shedding, unemployment and poor law and order. He said target killers who have disturbed the peace and quiet of the city have been included in the Sindh government. The JI ameer lamented that those who had been voted by people to serve them have now become involved in target killings themselves and taking lives of innocent people. He appealed to the people not to give their votes to the leaders who are ruining the country and are working on the US agenda and are not concerned with the miseries of the common man. Hasan said the army chief had finally accepted the reality that the military operation was no solution to the problems of the people and demanded that the citizens of Balochistan had the right over their resources, therefore their right should be accepted and the army should be called back.

He said that the JI was gaining public support and a large number of people from all walks of life had joined the party’s campaign against the drone attacks. Hasan said that there was a dire need of a joint strategy on all important issues to get rid of American slavery and from its puppets. He said the secular forces of the Western world and the so-called super power are facing defeat at the hands of the poor people of Afghanistan, while Pakistan was suffering at the hands of the US. The JI ameer warned that US is bound to face defeat at the hands of the Pakistani people and they will spare no efforts to ditch the US agenda. A large number of people were present at the occasion, while strict security measures had been put in place to avoid any untoward incident.
