Two bombs hit Pak Navy buses, four dead
KARACHI: Two bombs exploded near buses carrying navy officials in Karachi on Tuesday, killing four and wounding over 50, officials said.
A Pakistan Navy spokesman confirmed the death of four personnel in the blasts. Dr Nadia and Sub Lieutenant Mohammad Iqbal were killed and 37 others injured in first attack. While second blast claims lives of Umer farooq and M Sharif and hurt 17.
"Explosive devices were planted on the road and they exploded as the buses were passing. Both buses were carrying navy officers," senior police officer told media.
According to the details, first bomb blast took place when an explosive device went off near the navy bus on Korangi Road in Defence phase II. The bus was carrying 50 navy personnel.
Second bomb explosion occurred in Baldia Town 2 when the bus, carrying navy personnel, was going from Naval Colony to Hub.
Meanwhile, injured personnel of Defence Phase II blast were taken to PNS Shifa Hospital while victims of Baldia town blast were taken to the nearby Murshid hospital.
