Altaf terms Liaquat’s death a tragedy to MQM
KARACHI: Quaid Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Altaf Hussain, Saturday dubbed martyrdom of a senior party worker and a former member Sindh assembly, Liaquat Qureshi, as being a massive tragedy and a big loss to his party, Geo News reported.It may be mentioned here that Liaquat Qureshi, MQM’s senior party worker and a former member Sindh assembly, was gunned down in Gulshan locality by unidentified gunmen on late Friday.
This he said during a telephonic address to party workers at MQM’s Headquarters NineZero.
“Liaquat Qureshi was a senior worker of Muttahida Qaumi Movement and was in service at several positions in party. He even stood-by MQM’s movement during times of army operation against party activists and leaders on June 2nd, 1992,” Altaf described.
“His martyrdom was a tragedy for MQM and a massive loss,” he claimed.
He called upon president, prime minister, CM and governor Sindh to bring culprits to book and do justice with bereaved family.
Later, he prayed for departed soul and for bereaved family that may Allah give them enough courage to bear this irreparable loss.
