Pak educationist earns Global Educator’s Award

KARACHI: Renowned educationalist, Chairperson International Schools Educational Olympiad and Principal Karachi High School, Parveen Kassim earned the Global Educator’s Award in the recently held ‘7th Annual United Nations Conference on Teaching Peace and Human Rights in a multi-cultural world’.
Her services were acknowledged for breaking geographical barriers for promoting peace and instilling a sense of camaraderie, trust and understanding between young people from across the world.
It is pertinent to mention here that Kassim not only initiated ‘Educational Olympiad’ to provide schools from across the world with an opportunity to interact for peace and harmony, but also contributed a lot for education at international level.
She is also known for her educational cooperation with schools in India, besides having the honour of being the founding principal of the only Pakistani school that hosts international events and is affiliated with offshore sports associations.
The two-day conference, gathering teachers, administrators, future leaders and non-governmental organisations on a single platform, was aimed at acknowledging leaders in education from across the world. The conference run by global education motivators, teachers and educators served to highlight the role of educationalists from Karachi, Pakistan; Chennai, India; Burnaby, Canada; Mexico City, Mexico; Manila, Philippines and the US. The conference also highlighted inspiring initiatives worldwide towards promoting and teaching peace within the classrooms and educational institutes.
Kassim has been contributing over the last two decades towards bridging distances, and gathering students from Pakistan and across the world including youth from India, UK and Australia on a single platform to boost shared learning, competition and healthy interaction through the yearly educational meet hosted by Karachi High School.
