KARACHI: Coalition partners in Sindh, Pakistan People's Party (PPP), Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Awani National Party (ANP) have decided to launch indiscriminate action against criminals across the province, Geo News reported.
A decision to this effect was taken during a meeting held at the Sindh Governor House which was chaired by Governor Ishrat ul Ebad, Sindh, Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik.
Raza Haroon, Dr. Saghir Ahmed and Waseem Aftab of MQM, Ayaz Soomro and Murad Ali Shah of PPP and Senator Shahi Sayed and Rana Gul Afridi of ANP attended the meeting.
The meeting also took cognizance of the need of keeping close contacts among the partners and the leaders agreed to reactivate the coordination committee.
The participants agreed that all efforts be undertaken to ensure law and order in the economic hub of the country and those involved in criminal activities be brought to book without any consideration of their political affiliations.
The ANP side expressed reservations over conducting operations at their offices including Bacha Khan Markaz.
Later, talking to the media Governor Ebad thanked Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Rahman Malik for their efforts to bring all the parties at one table to resolve issues.
Some forces were trying to reap benefits of law and order situation and it is our duty to foil such nefarious designs, he added.
