KARACHI: President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday called for zero-tolerance policy against all street criminals and extortionists in Karachi that had paralysed the lives of ordinary citizens besides directing the relevant quarters to provide police with aerial patrolling equipment as well as heavy duty armoured personnel carriers (APCs) and geo-fencing of localities infested with criminal elements. The president issued these instructions in a meeting convened at the Bilawal House to review law and order situation. Spokesperson to the president, Senator Farhatullah Babar said that the president at the outset of meeting called for a report on the implementation of decisions taken in last meeting on law and order and the difficulties encountered in implementation of the decisions taken.
