US respects Pakistan's sovereignty: Nides
ISLAMABAD: United States Deputy Secretary of State Thomas Nides held talks with Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar here on Wednesday.Following the meeting Nides said that the US shared an interest in the stability and prosperity of Pakistan and the region.
“Too much is at stake for us to turn away from each other, so we must work through all these challenges,” Nides said.
The US Deputy Director of State added that the US greatly appreciated Pakistan’s support and sacrifices during the war on terror.
Commenting on the Parliamentary review, Nides said this offered and important opportunity to ensure that the relationship was enduring, strategic and more clearly defined.
Nides reiterated that the US respected Pakistan’s sovereignty and desires to achieve a balanced approach in the bi-lateral relationship.
